A Dragon Boat Club: Why?
Dragon boating can quickly become a club sport in any community. From small towns to big cities, the sport is enjoyed by anyone, anywhere. (Dragon boating is even in Iran now).
Making it happen is much like getting a team captain to lead the charge to compete in a dragon boat festival. It takes one or two people to spearhead it and many supporters to move it along.
Recreational sports have long been a history for adults who wish to continue their athletic lives. We typically see softball, volleyball, basketball, football and soccer leagues form. But a sport for many athletes – and those who may think of themselves as non-athletes – is the ultimate in recreation and fulfillment: dragon boating.
Club teams can be competitive or recreational, or both. They can be life-changing. Typically, a dragon boat club team melds into family: traveling together, competing, winning and living their passion.
